Stretch Goal #2 Reached! 20K!

Deluxe copies of the game for everyone! This was the big stretch goal, and the one that we're personally most excited about being able to deliver. Neoprene player mats are not only classy as heck, they make it a whole lot easier to flip the cards face-up and face-down, sleeved or not. And thanks to all of you we can now afford to put 4 of these sweet neoprene playmats in every box.
Some Last-Minute Tinkering...
Don't panic! We're not making any drastic changes or anything, but the game HAS had a whole heck of a lot more eyeballs on it over the past few weeks, (you know, 2 major Cons and a Kickstarter) and there has been a lot of great new feedback. We pride ourselves on how much time we've put into playtesting in the years leading up to this moment, but there's always room for improvement, and some suggestions were either things that were already on our mind or simple non-controversial upgrades.
Hania and Garth are having a day off to recover from all the Con excitement, but over the next week as the Kickstarter draws to a close, you can keep an eye out for potential (very small) tweaks to the mats, rulebook, and card layout.

Final Stretch (and what we're doing to make sure we hit that neoprene stretch goal!)

We're in the final stretch of the campaign now, with just 1 week to go. It's been quite an exciting ride so far, but we've saved the best for last! We reeeally want to upgrade everyone to that neoprene mat, so we're pulling out all the stops...
The elusive and mysterious illustrator and graphic designer, Hania Lisowska will be making a rare appearance this weekend at our Emerald City Comic Con booth.

We're spending a few more last-minute marketing bucks on some slots in various gaming newsletters and banners with a "Kickstarter ending soon" mini campaign.
Look forward to Primordial Secrets making it back on to people's Kickstarter front pages on the last day or two in the "ending soon" category. I know that's the first list I look at when I'm browsing Kickstarter, and the historical numbers say I'm not alone!
We've got the pledge manager back-end all set to roll when the Kickstarter campaign ends - this will just be a quick survey sent out to all of you next week to collect shipping addresses and shipping costs. You'll also have the option at this point to upgrade your pledge with add-ons, or upgrade from observer tier.
We had a plan A and plan B when it came to manufacturing and shipping going into the campaign, depending a lot on if we hit the neoprene goal. We are now looking at doing a sort of combination of plan A and B, using LongPack as the manufacturer, and changing our Asia/Australia fulfillment service to VFI Asia. What this means for you is basically nothing - shipping costs will stay very close to what is quoted on the Kickstarter page. For us, what it means is we'll be getting more copies than we need from this first print run, basically trading in any amount of profit we might have made this year to instead basically breaking even up front but having a stockpile of 900 or so copies of the game that we can sell over time after you all receive your copies.

Stretch Goal #1 Reached!

Way to keep the momentum rolling! Earlier today with our 300th backer we passed that first stretch goal, unlocking the bonus 26th royal card that will come in every copy of the first printing (and never again).
There's a lot to say about Etteilla. First of all, some of you may recognize the name from the origins of Tarot, while "the First" is an homage to all of you who are the first to support us. The effect is balanced value-wise, essentially trading a few recruiting power on the next turn for a few extra insight, but the versatility will make Etteilla outperform its stats. Not only does the effect come attached to a strong host or a strong visitor, it can be used early on in the game to give you a recruiting boost, while later in the game it can secure you those last few secrets. But my favorite part of the card is the bluffing potential it opens up, by giving all players at the table a ton of public knowledge that can be used in a variety of ways. The cost isn't left off here because we're trying to be coy - this card needs a good amount of testing before we settle on its cost since the effect is so unique.
Speaking of testing, you are all cordially invited to test the game digitally for yourselves on Tabletop Simulator while we wait for the physical copies. And if you do, please let us know what you think of Etteilla! We've put the card into the public version so everyone can take a stab at breaking it!
With ECCC next weekend and the expected "end-of-campaign" crowd still to come, it looks very likely we will reach the all-important stretch goal number 2, which will upgrade everyone's playmats from a laminated artpaper to nice neoprene beauties. It's a big jump in manufacturing costs for us, but one well worth paying once we have enough folks on board to be able to afford it!

Greetings from GenCon! the Exhibitor Hall has just opened on day 3 and we have put out a new sign! ”Funded on Kickstarter!”
Thank you sincerely for making this all possible! With 2 days of GenCon left and a whole Emerald City Comic Con after that, funding is just the beginning! The first stretch goal is well within reach, the Kickstarter-exclusive Royal. I don’t have any more of the card to reveal here since I’m writing this from the convention floor, but you can catch a sneak peak at an early sketch of the artwork on our Instagram channel - just look for Hania’s speeddrawing post!

As we pack our bags for GenCon we are nearing 75% funded with over 150 backers. The "Fully Funded" signs are printed and ready to display at our booth, as soon as we hit that 100%.
