Upcoming Demo Day and a Shipping Update

First of all, to our EU and Australia backers, thank you so much for your patience. The games took a looong time leaving the China port, but they are finally in Europe and are scheduled to clear Customs on June 25th. From there it should be a quick turnaround to ship to you. The updated ETA is early July.

For the local pickup folks (or for people who just want to play some games in person) the next place to catch us will be on July 8th at Blue Highway Games! If you live in Seattle you probably know how awesome the Blue Highway crew is, and they are huge supporters of the local indie game community. From 1pm-5pm on July 8th they are hosting a "Demo Day" spotlighting Primordial Secrets! This is a chance to learn how to play, meet the designer and artist, or find some folks to play the game with at the open play tables. Primordial Secrets will be for sale, and we'll have copies set aside for the Kickstarter backers who selected "local pickup."

For everyone else, you should have your games by now. If you didn't receive your rewards, send an email to [email protected] with the email address you backed under and we will track it down!

Primordials Have Begun Darkening Doorsteps Across the Globe

We have heard word from backers in UK, Japan, and US that games are beginning to appear on doorsteps! Our copies haven't arrived yet, but we are enjoying living vicariously through everyone else posting their boxes.

Just in time, we published the full "How to Play" video today, which you'll be able to find on our website, our BGG page, and YouTube. It's not peak cinema, but surely it beats reading.

For those of you near Seattle, we are having a release party on June 3rd at GL HF headquarters in Burien, Washington. Vibe: backyard party with some gaming tables. This will be the first chance for folks who selected "local pickup" to grab their copy of the game, but everyone's invited. Specifics to follow, but save the date!

Last but not least - there's always going to be a few defects or missed deliveries, and we'll do our best to make it right. If you get a broken component let us know via email at [email protected] and if you haven't got your game within the next month, let us know about that too!

Still on Track for May Delivery (for most)

The shipping game is more Ameritrash than Eurogame, but the RNG gods have been (mostly) kind. (For the non-gamers reading this, this headline is a boardgame reference - don't worry about it.)

Since manufacturing finished up last month, we've been continuing to work closely with the good folks at Hero Time, who not only handled the manufacturing, but are also our main logistics partner. If you've backed an indie Kickstarter before you'll already be aware that this stage involves a lot of burning offerings and hoping - while there are a lot of balls to juggle for us, there are also a lot of variables that we just have very little agency over. The shipping status below will be good news for most, but one region looks to be a little more delayed than we would have liked. Sorry Australia and parts of Europe :(

North America (ETA late May): 

• The games made it into port AND through customs in record speed! 
• They will be arriving at our US fulfillment center within the next few days.
• Once there, the games will need to packed & labeled, then shipped to you!

Asia, Germany, UK & Switzerland (ETA mid May):

• Congrats! The way things worked out, you 51 backers will be the first to get your hands on the game by about a week! Let us know how they look! Post an unboxing or something!
• Your games are packed and labeled and will be shipping directly from the manufacturer in China this week.

Australia and rest of Europe (ETA mid June):

• Your games are packed and labeled in China.
• This week they will be leaving to a fulfillment center in Europe.
• Since the games will be arriving at the fulfillment center already labeled, they should be able to be shipped out from there quickly, but I've been informed that mid June is the expectation for delivery.
• We're super sorry you folks will have to wait a couple extra weeks. We hadn't planned for it to take so much longer to get to you. Especially for Australia, we were expecting to ship directly to you from Asia, but had to adjust to shipping from Europe, which adds extra time. Hopefully we can make it up to you with our next project! 

Local pickup (ETA early June):

• The games headed straight to GL HF headquarters, AKA Garth's house, made it to port in record time but got flagged for extra checks.
• Despite the minor delay in customs, we expect the games will be released by the end of next week.
• Once we are sure there won't be further delays, we will schedule some times this summer for you to pick up your copy in person. Possible events include a release house-party the first weekend of June, and partnering with some local gameshops TBA to host us. 

The next update will be real soon with more details on upcoming in-person events and the premiere of the full "how-to-play" video.

Has your address changed since November?

The manufacturing step is nearing completion!

Our manufacturing partner, Hero Time, moved to a more eco-friendly location last month but were able to keep to the production schedule, even through losing a few days to the move. If the sample we received is any indication, they've exceeded every expectation, all while being a little friendlier to the trees!

The Long Voyage Begins

Within the next week or two, the games should be leaving the print shop, headed for boats. We asked for your shipping addresses way back in November to try to get an idea of quantities per region (in order to decide on Fulfillment Service solutions), but surely some of you have moved since then. If that's the case, you can go back through your personal Backerkit link (in an old email from Backerkit) and update your address in the system. We have to lock those addresses before getting the games on the boats, so if you can spare a minute this week to make sure the address is up-to-date that'd be amazing. If your address changes after we lock Backerkit, no worries, we'll just have to do some manual adjustments, so just reach out to us directly.

We're still on target for May delivery, though it does look like it will be late May, realistically. We'll keep you updated if that changes.

Bask in the Glory of the Final Product!

The mass production sample came in the mail today from the manufacturer and it is gorgeous! Feast your eyes...

You can see a more detailed unboxing on our Instagram, but the tldr is everything looks and feels great, the materials are high quality and nothing is missing! We're just going to take one last typo check as we sleeve these cards up, and then go ahead and print 1000 more copies! The best timeline estimate is still on track for May delivery - about 2 months for mass production, 1 month for freight/customs, and 1 month for local delivery. In the meantime, 1 copy of the final product exists and Garth has already begun referring to it as "my precious."

The wait continues, but you can play the full final version of the game to your heart's content digitally on Tabletop Simulator. And if you're local to Seattle, let's meet up at a game shop to wear in this production sample copy!
